How to Validate a Vendor Badge at a School
As a vendor, you can obtain a Verification Badge through SafeSchool ID for school access. This involves identity background checks using external services to verify your identity.
Identity Background Checks
To ensure the security and integrity of the school environment, the following background checks are performed:
Federal Criminal Record Check:
This check includes a comprehensive review of any federal criminal records. “Federal crimes” refer specifically to offenses that violate U.S. federal laws. They are investigated by federal law enforcement and prosecuted by United States attorneys in federal courts with federal judges. While many of these offenses are distinctive to the federal system, they also include crimes that would otherwise fall under state or local jurisdictions had they not occurred on U.S. federal property or on an Indian reservation. Sexual Offenders Registry Check:
This check verifies if the individual is listed in the sex offenders registry
Steps to Obtain a Verification Badge
Issue a Verification Badge:
Vendors can issue a Verification Badge that will be used for school access
Under the Vendor dashboard, click 'Get a Verification Badge.'
Fill in Personal Information
Upload a real photo, First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, SSN (last 4 digits), Phone Number
Choose Payment Method
Select a payment method from the options available (Credit Card, PayPal, Google Pay)
Click 'Pay' to proceed with payment

Start Identity Verification Process
Click 'Start a Persona Check' to begin the verification process

Select the country your government ID is from
Choose one type of ID from the list and upload a photo of it
Take a Photo
You can take a photo, upload a photo from your computer, or proceed from your mobile phone, which might be more convenient if you have the required images stored on your mobile device
Adding photo Take/ Upload the photo and submit it by clicking 'Use this photo'
Liveness Check. Follow the instructions to complete the liveness check using your camera
Upload Proof of Address
Upload a proof of address. You can take a photo or upload from your computer.
You can also continue the process using another device, which might be more convenient if you have the required images stored on your mobile device
You can upload multiple photos if necessary.
Click 'Submit' once done

Consent to Data Protection Policy
After the congratulations screen, you will need to consent to the data protection policy to start the criminal record check.
Check Status Updates
You will then see a screen with the statuses of the checks:
Sex Offender Record Check: Happens momentarily, and the status is available right away.
Federal Criminal Record Check: Can happen momentarily or take a bit longer. Once the federal criminal record check is done, the page will update automatically showing your verification badge. You will also get an update in your notification center once it's completed.

Once all background checks are completed, your verification badge will be displayed on the screen.
The verification badge includes your photo, First and Last names, Vendor name, validity date, and a QR code.
The verification badge has a unique code combining letters and numbers that is unique to each person in the organization

Using the Verification Badge
You can take a photo of the verification badge using your mobile device, print it, or add it to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
